Is there anyone out there that currently suffers from insomnia? If so I would definitely appreciate some feed back on some of the things you’ve done to battle it. I personally don’t have it. My fiance does. She’s going to the doctor soon. I’m just wondering if I could get some hands-on-experience so to speak with people’s medication use and how they feel about it, etc.

    Insomnia is also fear related.

I had insomnia for a few years, and it was because I was stressed. It was my leaving certificate, and I was going nuts about it. There’s a saying prevention is better than cure, and for me that was the key. I tried to find out WHY I had insomnia, and stopped it at the source. In the meantime, herbal remedies worked (I can’t remember the name now, but just ask in a healthfood shop) and cutting out caffeine and sugar too.
    Hope I’ve helped! =D

I suffer from bouts of insomnia. My doctor told me to cut out ALL caffeinated drinks, and sugar filled foods. Then he told me to try a herbal pill containing hops, valerian, and passion flower they are all sedatives which help promote calm and relaxation. It helps a bit but its more for stress. The change in diet I find helps as well.
