Jacko asked 03/11/2010:
I have been working hard everyday for half my life to achieve my goal of wrestling on a tour in Japan. I finally got that ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ after 15 years and picked up a great contract that is set to start on April 9th. BUT… the day after I was given this great news I blew my knee out in a tournament. I have never had a bad injury in my life… and it this has just hit at the worst time. Go figure. I have torn my ACL and my MCL is completely torn. I have two options… not go to to Japan and miss out on this opportunity I have spent half my life trying to achieve, which may never come around again cause I am at that age where its do or die. Or… strap and brace it up, go balls to the wall and hope for the best?
So many pro’s with an equal amount of con’s!
Any idea’s, thoughts, or advice?

Hey guys, thanks for your responses. The coin toss idea ended up turning into best of 3… then 5, 7 and onwards! haha.
I have been to a doctor, knee specialist and orthopedic surgeon and have had x-rays and an MRI. They know about my situation and have been very helpful and have not ruled me out on going to Japan. Which was a surprise. They have said that 4 weeks will not be enough time for it to heal at all, but if I can wear a brace to support my knee which is comfortable enough to wrestle in, then it ‘might’ be ok. Of course no guarantees that it wont just explode inwards.
I guess I just need to know what others would do in my situation.

Oh Shit that sounds like my luck I wouldnt know what to do either cause if you brace it and go you could mess yourself up for life and never be able to wrestle on the other hand it is your one big shot.
If it were me I would do a coin toss.
