N.N. asked 12/22/2009:
Firstly, hello HelpMe community! And thanks for taking the time to read my question.
Now, down to it. I have recently begun to like this guy. I didn’t see him for aaaaaaaages, but I then re-met him at a party recently. I never liked him before, but now I do. I was quite flirty with me, which I found surprising, and it got me all a-flutter.
BUT. There are two problems. 1) He’s my best friend’s younger brother. And 2) I have been told recently that he’s probably gay.
And I am now quite befuddled. I have a load of questions floating around. Why was he flirty with me if he’s gay? Or if he’s just generally flirty, why was he just flirty with me? If he did turn out to be perfectly straight, how awkward would it be dating my best-friend’s-younger-brother? Oh… sooo many questions…
Anyone have any comments…? =D

Going out with a younger brother is not the problem. It is when you stop going out with the younger brother it is a problem. Do not go out as boy/girl freinds just hang out as freinds and no one gets hurt. If it takes off and turns into something, then you can talk to your freind and see what they think.

1. Okay, if he or she was really your friend, they would understand. If you saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Harry starts dating his best friends younger sister! By the end of Deathly Hallows, they were married with kids! (Sorry for the spoiler).
2. Try being flirty back and see where things go from there. You might be suprised. :)
