I fall in love a lot. I can’t help it. I love the feeling. I don’t want to though. How can I stop falling?

Sally H. answered:
I have a friend who has the same problem but I’m helping her out by spending a lot of time with her. I noticed that she doesn’t like to be alone and I’m trying to show her that she doesn’t need a lover to be happy. I keep reminding her to take it slow and just to keep her mind clear until she is really ready for a relationship. I think what would be best is to make a friend who will be by your side and help you through the hard times. I hope it works out, good luck Karissa.
Richard Moore answered:
try using a cane. or better yet find yourself a mother hen a friend you trust that can intervene before you fall.
fainez answered:
it depends if the people your falling in love with feel the same way. personally i hate falling for someone, cause they very rarely feel the same way about me.
another friend answered:
I agree with most of the advice below, enjoy the feeling, but I would add a caution, in that it can become dangerous to get addicted to the feeling.

Its no different from a drug. If you start going after the feeling without regard for the person, you may see an increasing inability to have a long-term relationship. Like a druggie, you may keep needing a new “high” to get that feeling.
Everyone loves to fall in love, and humans can’t really survive without love, its built into us. Just make sure you’re getting your needs met in the right places.
As a Christian, I believe that there is a kind of love that all humans desire that can only be found in a relationship with God. I spent a vast majority of time looking for that love in a relationship with a woman until I realized no woman could fulfill that. Anyway, I hope you can sort it all out,
God bless.
DeadInTheWater answered:
Don’t stop. Consider yourself lucky. Some people go their entire life and never know what that fall feels like.
Johann Niemand answered:
Don’t stop, its good exercise. If I had none of the loves I had, I would not have had a life, even though most of them are gone now they are never forgotten.
Harpuia answered:
well… you could try find someone worth falling for, or… they may find you instead. Whats wrong with being a hopeless romantic anyway?
