What can one conceivably tell the Lord God that He must not already know and understand? To pray in His will would only be to seek comfort from prayer, never to ask for anything. But perhaps true faith means taking action oneself making every best use of all resources and opportunity before you by whatever grace of God and in answer to prayer given only the wit to see. Is that not how a personal God would open your eyes and show you the way? Perhaps it is your wife who needs to perceive your devotion, not any God who already knows and understands your every secret and the content of your heart. Otherwise, if things continue to drag on, then the question remains: at what point must the will of God be understood as a mandate or clear directive towards a divorce at long last? Surely a loving God, knows how mightily you have struggled and like any other good friend, must endorse whatever are the best interests of the two of you, to stay together or else to part.
